Changeling Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Angelina Jolie, John Malkovich, Maria J. Rockwell, Colm Feore, Jeffrey Donovan, Michael Kelly Director: Clint Eastwood Clint Eastwood creates beautiful, poignant and powerful movies and this is a terrifying story brilliantly told and acted. First time I've liked Angelina Jolie in a movie - she's mostly good.	Doubt Yes, No, Maybe: Yes! Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, Viola Davis Lloyd Clay Brown, Joseph Foster Director: John Patrick Shanley Amazing! Streep and Hoffman, the two greatest actors alive today, in a movie together. I just about lost it! Shanley does a wonderful job - it's a major undertaking and he rises to the occasion. And then to have Viola Davis in that scene - it's all too much!	Frost Nixon Yes, No, Maybe:Yes Frank Langella, Michael Sheen, Sam Rockwell, Kevin Bacon, Matthew Macfadyen, Toby Jones Director: Ron Howard Sheen and Langella are perfect in their roles and Rockwell, Bacon and Jones fill out the cast for an entertaining movie. What I never understood is why is it such a big deal that Nixon covered what came to been known as Watergate when he was responsible for so many real atrocities? And after all what he said is true - 'when the President does it, that means that it is not illegal'.

Brand Upon The Brain Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Gretchen Krich, Sullivan Brown Maya Lawson, Katherine E. Scharhon, Todd Moore Director: Guy Maddin Unique filmmaking of Maddin takes a bit of getting used to but once you do, you may be mesmerized.	Baghead Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Ross Partridge, Steve Zissis, Greta Gerwig, Elise Muller, Jett Garner, Anthony Cristo Director: Jay & Mark Duplass Fun indy.	Burn After Reading Yes, No, Maybe: Maybe George Clooney, Brad Pitt Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Tilda Swinton Director: Ethan & Joel Coen Fantastic cast (especially Pitt), medicore movie (for the Coens that is). Guess the boys derserve a little fun between their classics (No Country For Old Men, Fargo, Blood Simple).

The Wrestler Yes, No, Maybe: Yes! Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei Evan Rachel Wood, Ernest Miller, Todd Barry Director: Darren Aronofsky Amazing. I watched in the evening and woke up thinking about it. Rourke and Tomei are absolutely perfect in their roles and Wood is excellent in her scenes. A real metaphor for what happens to people in the world. You don't have to be a wrestler or a dancer to how life gets down to a choice and you need courage and commitment to make it that choice, or not. For me, this is a perfect film.	Michael Clayton Yes, No, Maybe: Yes! George Clooney, Tom Wilkinson Tilda Swinton, Sydney Pollack, Michael O'Keefe, Ken Howard Director: Tony Gilroy Clooney makes some really good movies. An all star cast creates a story that unfortunately is totaly believable.	Mamma Mia Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan Amanda Seyfried, Julie Walters Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård Director: Phyllida Lloyd Streep is in fine form, Brosnan sings and the rest of the cast hold up their ends swimmingly. Watch til the very end.

Milk Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Sean Penn, , Emile Hirsch James Franco, Josh Brolin Diego Luna, Alison Pill Director: Gus Van Sant Performances live up to the incredible story of Harvey Milk. An activist well known for gay rights, but who also fought for the rights of the elderly, the poor and minorities. While you may be old enough to have remember when this was going down, it's worth your time to revisit this time - because not that much has changed. Gays are still fighting for their rights, as well as minorities, the elderly, the poor and women. Its still an old, straight, white man's world and while we make small inroads, they still hold the power.	Revolver Yes, No, Maybe: Maybe Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, Vincent Pastore, André Benjamin, Terence Maynard Director: Guy Ritchie Critics disliked it. I found it medicore but stylish and still watchable. The crew of actors is good, the music, lighting, direction I found all quite fun. The story tries to be meaningful yet is insignificant. It ws a good idea that just didn't work out in the hands of Ritchie. I admire the attempt though and think Ritchie still has potential.	Ghost Town Yes, No, Maybe: No Ricky Gervais, Téa Leoni Greg Kinnear, Alan Ruck, Bill Campbell Director: David Koepp True story; I had to pull over to the side of the road while driving and listening to the Ricky Gervais podcast because I was laughing so hard. We are big fans of The Extras in our house. So, why oh why, did Gervais choose this pathetically mainstream movie for his entry into the Hollywood genre? Was the money just too much to refuse? Not to mention, one more dumpling boy gets amazingly beautiful girl story. What's with that? Sad little fat man.

Slumdog Millionaire Yes, No, Maybe: Oh Yes! Dev Patel, Anil Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Freida Pinto, Madhur Mittal, Rubiana Ali Director: Danny Boyle Just see this. Don't listen to anything about it - I know it's hard because this movie is on everyone's lips, but the less you know the better. It is as amazing as everyone's saying it is and that's all I'm saying!	Bigger, Stronger, Faster Yes, No, Maybe: Yes! Chris Bell, Mike Bell, Mark Bell, Christian Boeving, Ben Johnson, Floyd Landis, Gregg Valentino Director: Chris Bell Think you know about anabolic steroids? Chris Bell talks with those touched by performance drugs; his family, athletes, gym rats, medical experts and politicians, and reveals the true US drug culture. Chris asks the right questions and creates an honest, down to earth documentary. Too bad our news media wasn't as truthful. A valuable family film. Well done.	Recount Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Kevin Spacey, Dennis Leary, Laura Dern, Tom Wilkinson, Ed Begley Jr, John Hurt Director: Jay Roach Even if you're not a political junkie, there's good reason to watch Recount, the HBO movie. The American election of 2000 was fraught with many mistakes and prejudices and the person who won is not the person who became president. This narrative details what went down in those days and it seems pretty well researched. Read more from the players.

Margot At The Wedding Yes, No, Maybe: Maybe Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jack Black, Nicole Kidman, Ciarán Hinds, John Turturro Director: Noah Baumbach It's been awhile since I saw this and remember it as not too bad. I like anything Jennifer Jason Leigh is in and even thoguht Jack Black was good in this. I have a harder time with Nicole Kidman, but like her when she plays a tough, unlikeable person, which she does here. So, guess I'm on the fence with this one.	Nancy Drew Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Emma Roberts, Joanne Baron Caroline Aaron, Marshall Bell Director: Andrew Fleming A movie for young teenagers that emphasizes brains and personality over sex appeal - what a concept. A bit too spunky for adults but still watchable with your kids. I'd like to see it loose some of it flightiness (is that a word?) but overall I appreciate the sweetness of it.	Rendition Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Meryl Streep, Alan Arkin, J.K. Simmons Peter Sarsgaard Director: Gavin Hood Not great but not bad either. A steady movie (that's kind of like a 'nice' date) with good actors and a stroy we should all be aware of. could it have been better - yes, but still not bad.

John From Cincinnati Yes, No, Maybe: Yes! Austin Nichols, Brian Van Holt, Bruce Greenwood, Rebecca De Mornay, Keala Kennelly, Ed O'Neill, Luke Perry Totally off the wall TV series that had one season and looks like it may not come back. I sure hope it does because it has a great cast, some good surfing and skating and of course an alien.	Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten Yes, No, Maybe: Yes! Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Bono, Steve Buscemi, Terry Chimes, John Cooper Clarke John Cusack Director: Julien Temple I missed the 60's and felt that I'd missed everything since the 70's were country rock and disco - then I went to England and punk found me. Finally, a reason to live - politics, music and comradeship. The Clash - the only band who never sold out - were a huge part of it all and this doc describes one man's story. Coincidence that Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros open each episode of John From Cincinnati?	King of California Yes, No, Maybe: Maybe Michael Douglas, Evan Rachel Wood, Allisyn Ashley Arm Willis Chung Director: Mike Cahill What could have been a wonderful adventure through California and a powerful story of redemption, gets bogged down and while ultimately fulfilling, the middle bits dragged on.

I Want Someone To Eat Cheese With Yes, No, Maybe: No Jeff Garlin, Bonnie Hunt, Sarah Silverman, Amy Sedaris, Roger Bart Director: Jeff Garlin Very low key, a little too low for me but again I bow to Mr Ebert.	In Bruges Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Ralph Fiennes, Ciarán Hinds Clémence Poésy Director: Martin McDonagh What a surprise! Offbeat, brilliant, thrilling, menacing, with superb performances by all. It's what I'd expect from Fiennes and Gleeson, but to be blown away by Farrell's work is new to me. Both the beauty of the photography and the city make this an all round really good movie.	Interview Yes, No, Maybe: No Steve Buscemi, Sienna Miller, Tara Elders, Molly Griffith Robert Hines Director: Steve Buscemi I like Steve Buscemi, but the last two outings I've seen, Interview and Delirious his roles have really gone nowhere. I admit I didn't watch this to the end, in fact I shut it down pretty early.

Enchanted Yes, No, Maybe: No Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden Director: Kevin Lima Maybe I just don't like anything Disney. Too sweet for me.	Hellboy Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Jeffrey Tambor. Karel Roden Rupert Evans Director: Guillermo del Toro Never thought I'd watch a movie called Hellboy, but if it's directed by Guillermo del Toro then I'm watching it. Brilliant casting. Oh yeah, waiting for Hellboy II now!	Hellboy II Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Doug Jones, John Alexander, Thomas Kretschmann, John Hurt Director: Guillermo del Toro Better than the first? They are both so good that it's hard to tell. But think I did like this one better.

Crank High Voltage Yes, No, Maybe: No! Jason Statham, Amy Smart, Bai Ling, Corey Haim, Glenn Howerton Directors: Mark Neveldine Brian Taylor I cant' even write how bad this movie is. It's not worth it - totally agree with the review. Statham, did you read the script, was the money too much to turn down, what were you thinking?	Dead Like Me Life After Death Yes, No, Maybe: Maybe Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, Viola Davis Lloyd Clay Brown, Joseph Foster Director: John Patrick Shanley Never seen the series but it looked kinda like fun. Movie is obviously a made for TV so do't expect a real movie. But all in all, I'd give the series a shot - it looks like it could be nothing-else-is-on good. I really like Ellen Muth, remember her in Dolores Claiborne?

Dan In Real Life Yes, No, Maybe: Never Steve Carell, Juliette Binoche Dane Cook, Norbert Leo Butz Director: Peter Hedges Doesn't get much worse.	Definitely, Maybe Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Ryan Reynolds, Abigail Breslin Rachel Weisz, Isla Fisher Director: Adam Brooks An enjoyable movie. Ryan Renolds is proving that he really is a good actor and ,yes, I love anything with Isla Fisher in it.	Delirious Yes, No, Maybe: No Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Alison Lohman Director: Tom DiCillo Don't believe what you read from critics - this is awful. Having said that Mr Ebert does know his movies.

Across The Universe Yes, No, Maybe: Maybe Jim Sturgess, Evan Rachel Wood, Joe Anderson Director: Julie Taymor Movie set to Beatles songs. First hour is good, then starts to drag and be too much of a good thing.	Amazing Grace Yes, No, Maybe: Yes Ioan Gruffudd, Albert Finney Romola Garai Director: Michael Apted An important story, not the best movie, but worthwhile all the same. Brings alive the world of where slavery was common place and those who fought to end it in England. We need these films to remember how cruel we can be to our sisters and brothers - slavery, witches, religious persecution, unequality of sexes - it's all gotta end.	Blue Velvet Yes, No, Maybe: Yes! Isabella Rossellini, Kyle MacLachlan, Dennis Hopper Laura Dern, Dean Stockwell Director: David Lynch This movie rocked my world in 1986 and still holds a top place in my movie heart. Brilliant, but perhaps now for Lynch fans only. Mr Suave is one of my alltime favourite characters.
