2008 Tofino Surf Reports
We are giving our best surf forecasts for Tofino and Long Beach areas. The
funny thing about forecasting is that things can shift quickly. North Chesterman
may look good on paper but the action's at South when you see the real thing.
So, use the forecasts as guides but trust your intuition - it's right more often
than you give it credit for.

August 14 Tofino Surf Report

Starting out at South Chesterman Beach may be your best best, then switching
to Cox, North Chesterman, or
Long Beach after noon. Looks good in the morning and better in the afternoon.
Get out there!

Looking like a good day. Opposite beach choice from yesterday. Start out
at Cox, North Chesterman, or
Long Beach, then move over to South Chesterman Beach in the afternoon. This may
be the best day of the week so pack a lunch!

Saturday

head to Cox, North Chesterman, or
Long Beach for the morning, take a long lunch break - nap, read, kick back, then
check South Chesterman Beach late afternoon. The waves look like they'll pick
up in the evening again.

We talked about cross-training a few weeks ago and this may be a good day
for a kayak or bike ride instead. Not much going on throughout the day so head
over to Meares Island in a kayak and walk the trail.

Monday
August 18, Tofino Surf Report

A great night to get out and enjoy the Monday Night Surf Session for Girls
and Women. Meet up 6:60 pm at South Chesterman. The waves are looking not bad
and may be perfect for beginners to come out and get some nice rides. South Chesterman
Beach is the place to be all day.

So, Sunday you got out for a kayak, today may be a good day to get on your
bike. Not much going on throughout the day so head
on down the MUP and give your legs a spin. If you really want to head out 6 am
at Cox, North Chesterman and Long Beach looks like your best bet - ouch, that's
early.
