Ucluelet Wild Pacific Trail: Amphitrite Lighthouse
Hiking the Wild Pacific Trail – The Gem of Ucluelet’s Western Coastline
Welcome to the Wild Pacific Trail where you will find stunning vistas over the open Pacific Ocean while hiking along a wide trail through west coast rain forest. Enjoy an large open expanse at the Amphitrite Lighthouse. Keep your eyes focused for migratory whale sightings, seals, sea lions and sailboats out in the ocean and eagles, old-growth trees, and the occasional horse-shoe in the beautiful cedar, fir and hemlock forest.
The trail hugs the edge of the rugged coastline, with lots of sweet viewpoints with cedar benches to picnic at. Or, walk down the steps to the beaches and look for Japanese glass floats, sea stars and sea urchins in the tide pools. A loop at the end of the trail overlooks Terrace Beach and brings you to a parking area where you can leave a second vehicle or go back the way you came and enjoy a new perspective on the return hike.
